If you’re experiencing tough times in today’s market when it comes to hiring the right candidate for the right job, you’re not alone. Even with the most recent activity on Wall Street, the economic forecast still dictates that it’s an employee’s market when it comes to job seeking. Competition for talent has become as much as an imperative in many organizations as it has for new location wins.

Meanwhile, in a recent survey conducted by The Marlyn Group, specific to the parking industry, 90% of respondents stated that they would be highly likely to consider a new career opportunity in the next 12 months, with 30% coming from the private operator sector.

Clearly the trick here is to connect company’s hiring needs to an actively engaged candidate pipeline. What a perfect segue to highlight two key learning opportunities on this very topic being offered at the 2015 NPA Annual Convention & Expo.

Colleen Niese, Principal, and parking industry expert is delivering an interactive talk on hiring with speed and success, one in a series of three sessions on recruiting and retaining top talent.  If your organization is seeking practical insight that can be put to use now, attend Colleen’s session on Wednesday, September 2nd at 9:30am. She will share recruitment techniques that the Marlyn Group deploys with our own parking clients to either design in house programs or be engaged to executive recruit for either operations or corporate support professionals. As part of her talk, she’ll cover:

  • Effective use of social media;
  • Employment branding and selling your company to high potential candidates; and
  • Finding the best talent in a candidate’s market.

If you’re not able to attend the session, stop by booth #711 and pick up a copy of the white paper the Marlyn Group has developed for the NPA Show: How to Hire Top Talent With Speed.

Speaking of top talent, for those job seekers out there who are interested in discussing career advice, whether it be on resume writing, effective interviews or evaluating one opportunity over another, both Colleen and I are facilitating sessions during the NPA Career Fair on Wednesday, September 2nd between 1:00-6:00pm in the Exhibit Hall. Stop by to chat with either of us to gain the insight you’d like to have as you consider your next move in the parking industry.

We look forward to seeing you at the NPA Show next week!
