Since arriving in Dallas for the IPI Conference & Expo on Sunday, we have hit the ground running and have taken part in so many different events it has been a whirlwind! Our team members have been so busy they asked me, Marly, to write this week’s blog. Vicki presented Sunday to a standing room only crowd, Technology and Audit Practices: Achieving your Objectives While Maintaining Revenue Security In the New World to kick off the show for us and Carolyn and I set up the booth without a hitch. Afterwards we headed over to the opening Meet & Mingle at the Glass Cactus and caught up with lots of colleagues from across the industry and met some great new people.

We attended the kick-off breakfast and enjoyed seeing all the professionals recognized by IPI: congratulations Isaiah Mouw, CAPP, from Republic Parking! Following the breakfast we headed to the Expo Hall and spent our time in the booth talking with lots and lots of people about The Marlyn Group and uDrive. Next I attended Ignite: Technology with Carolyn and learned about lighting, EMV chips, online reservations and how urban parking meters can compete with parking garages. We finished the evening at the conference in the Exhibit Hall. I had the honor of meeting Paul Wessel, Executive Director of The Green Parking Council when he presented our partnership plaque to Carolyn and Vicki for The Marlyn Group. He was nice enough to take a photo with me!

To finish off the first half of our trip, we were lucky enough to attend the Women In Parking, Scheidt Bachman and Cale winery event. There was really great music, dancing and a real Texas BBQ – yum! After all the excitement we settled in for the evening. This intern is looking forward to the rest of this conference. We still have Greening the Garage, Brandy Stanley’s Food Truck Wars presentation, ParkMe’s party and many other informative and fun events to attend! Make sure you come and say hi – you can find me at booth #1229.
